Eighteen new cases of H1N1 flu in Cyprus

Eighteen new cases of H1N1 flu have been confirmed in Cyprus during the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of confirmed cases to 135, the Health Ministry announced on Tuesday.

According to a press release, eleven of the new cases concern Cypriots.

So far 304 persons with flu symptoms have been subjected to laboratory tests and 135 have been diagnosed with the virus.

The Health Ministry said the flow of incidents is fully monitored and there is no cause for concern.

Furthermore it notes that despite the fact that the new flu has taken a pandemic dimension and the number of cases is expected to increase, the symptoms of the flu remain mild.
