Cyprus harmonised inflation up 0.5% in May

The EU-harmonised consumer price inflation (HICP) rate reached 0.5% in May, having risen by 4.6% in May 2008, mainly as a result of a sharp fall in prices of transport and housing, water, electricity and gas.
The national consumer price inflation rate in the same period was 0.6%.
Compared with the previous month, the HICP index rose by 0.7%.
