Members of the Rotary Club of Nicosia-Aspelia donated a brand new 15-seater minibus worth 27,000 euros to the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society to help the 3,000 cancer patients who need to travel from far-away towns to the capital for their daily or weekly treatment.

Club President Marianna Trokoudes presented the keys to First Lady Elsie Christofias, president of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, during a special ceremony at the Arodafnousa Home for Cancer Patients in Nicosia. The project was completed through fund raising in five months and a contribution of 10,000 euros by Artemis Antoniadou, Chairman of the Voici La Mode Group – Marks & Spencer.

PricewaterhouseCoopers supported the Anti-Cancer Society with a cash donation of 4,900 euros collected by NewCytech Business Solutions Ltd from the resale of 22 laptops that were up for replacement.

This complemented the annual donation by PwC that totalled 11,035 this year, presented by the firm’s CEO Phidias Pilides to Andreas Athanasiades, Assistant Executive Director of the Anti-Cancer Society.
