KEO’s Ayios Nikolaos (Saint Nicholas) bottled water is back in the market, determined to regain its share after a seven-month absence.
A completely new plant has been built at the company’s source in Ayios Nikolaos Stegis near Kakopetria, which the company hopes will help it regain its 48% market share it used to command, according to date from RAI.
The launch ad campaign, dubbed “the next generation”, is a play on the new plant and the new generation of staff family members.
Company officials have said they are confident that the increased capacity plant will also help them overcome stock and shortage problems of the past, while allowing the product to reach new markets, through exports to Greece and the U.K.
KEO’s commercial manager Elias Sozou had said earlier this month that the contamination that prompted the old plant’s closure was traced to the bottling production line and that there was no problem with the water itself. It probably occurred during the construction of the new plant that was adjacent to the old building.
Although the brand maintains the same label as before, the 50ml bottle is shorter, while the bigger 1.5-litre is taller and thinner.
