Cyprus Ministry of Health in readiness regarding H1N1

The Ministry of Health remains in readiness regarding the novel influenza virus (H1N1), as the number of cases increases globally on a daily basis.

According to an official announcement issued on Sunday, the Ministry’s Management Committee, dealing with novel influenza issues, is in continuous contact with all the international organisations and bodies concerned and is taking all necessary action in order to increase the readiness of the country to the maximum level.

The Ministry repeats that travelers returning from affected countries should be medically evaluated in case they show symptoms of the novel influenza virus within seven days.

At the same time, the Pharmaceutical Services and the Management Committee of the Ministry inform people that the anti-viral medicine is provided under certain indications and only after medical prescription.

The Ministry’s Management Committee will brief the public regarding issues relating to the novel influenza virus on a daily basis.
