Cyprus industry prices down in March

Industrial prices have fallen in Cyprus according to the latest figures from the Statistical Service. The industrial output prices index for March 2009 reached 117.2 (base 2005=100), recording a decrease of 1.5% compared to February 2009.
For the period January-March 2009, the index showed an increase of 2.5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
For Manufacturing, the index for March 2009 reached 118.5, recording an increase of 0.5% compared to February 2009.
From January 2009, the is published with a new base year (2005=100) under the statistical classification of economic activities, NACE Rev. 2.
Meanwhile, figures on industrial turnover indicate a decline.
The industrial turnover index for January 2009 is provisionally estimated to have reached 108.0 (base 2005=100), recording a decrease of 5.5% compared to January 2008.
For manufacturing, the index for January 2009 reached 101.9, recording a decrease of 5.5% compared to January 2008.
From January 2009, the industrial turnover index is also published with a new base year (2005=100) and is using the new version of the statistical classification of economic activities, NACE Rev. 2.
