CyprusAid and EuropeAid to organise presentation

CyprusAid and the European Commission Representation in Cyprus are organising a presentation titled ''CyprusAid, EuropeAid: Development Cooperation in Action'', on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the accession of the Republic of Cyprus to the EU and the fourth year of operation of CyprusAid, the Development Cooperation Service of the Republic of Cyprus.

According to a press release, the presentation, which is under the auspices of Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcos Kyprianou, will take place on May 4 in Nicosia and will be in two parts.

During the first part, which is open to the public, there will presentations on how development assistance is provided by the Republic of Cyprus, the European Commission and the Cypriot non governmental development organisations.

A presentation on the strategy guiding CyprusAid actions, the activities undertaken by CyprusAid since its establishment and the future prospects of CyprusAid, will be delivered by Permanent Secretary of the Planning Bureau Andreas Moleskis.

Director General of Europe Aid Koos Richelle will present EuropeAid's main tasks and mandate within the European Commission's external relations family, as well as provide an overview of EuropeAid's performance since its creation in 2001 and the main challenges ahead for the implementation of external assistance programmes.

Furthermore, President of the NGDO Platform Nandia Karayianni will present the mandate of the platform and the activities undertaken by the platform and its members.

During the second part of the presentation, which is intended for non governmental organisations and the private sector, there will presentations on the European neighbourhood policy and on how NGOs and the private sector could benefit from European funding.
