Marfin Popular Bank completes EUR 200 mln capital issue

Marfin Popular Bank announced the successful conclusion of its capital raising effort, which through the issue of capital securities resulted in the Bank raising EUR 200 mln.
On 17 March 2008 the Board of Directors of the Bank approved the issue of capital securities up to EUR200 mln. During the first Tranche held on 14 April 2008, a total of 116.159 capital securities of nominal value EUR1.000 were issued, which were offered to a limited group of individuals, professional investors and to individuals who invested at least EUR50.000 each, raising EUR116.159.000.
During the second Tranche held on 30 June 2008, a total of 83.841 capital securities of nominal value EUR1.000 were issued, which were offered to the public through a Public Offer raising EUR83.841.000.
The above amounts were used to enhance the capital base of the Group and were included in the Bank’s Hybrid Tier I Capital.
