The European Commission has chosen the annual Innovation Award of the Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEV) as a tool of ‘good practice’ to promote creativity and innovation in Europe.
The awards initiative will also be posted on EC websites as examples of ‘good practice’ to be followed in other European countries.
The annual Innovation Awards, currently in its fourth cycle with a record number of participations, is supported by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, the Research Promotion Foundation and the University of Cyprus, as well as trade unions and industrial or business groups.
The OEV initiative aims to identify and reward creativity and innovation in each sector of business, in the public and private sector, as well as individual businesspeople, workers and even students.
“The EC decision is an honour for the Awards Committee, and in particular its president, Andreas Moleskis, by attaining such international recognition,” said an OEV announcement.
