Cyprus is largest foreign investor in Ukraine

Cyprus is the largest foreign investor in the Ukraine and the largest investment destination for Ukrainian business, according to the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

According to a CCCI press release, at a recent meeting of the Cyprus-Ukraine Business Association, the Ambassador of the Ukraine to Cyprus Oleksandr Demianiuk said that ''Cyprus is at this stage the largest foreign investor in Ukraine, and also by far the most common destination-country for investments from Ukraine.''

Demianiuk reported a significant increase in turnover between the two countries in terms of goods and services, as well as increasing imports and exports.

The Ambassador of the Ukraine inform the Business Association about the measures taken by his country in order to deal with the economic recession and suggested that countries with strong economic relations should coordinate their measures in order to reduce the impact of the recession and enhance trade and economic ties.

The President of the Cyprus-Ukraine Business Association Christos Rotsas and the Administrative Council assured the Ambassador that they will continue efforts to promote trade and economic relations between Cyprus and Ukraine.
