Cyprus petroleum product sales up 0.4% in 2008

Total sales of petroleum products in 2008 rose by a marginal 0.4% in 2008, to 1,647,316 tonnes, compared with 1,640,012 tonnes in 2007.
Stocks of petroleum at the end of 2008 were 0.5% higher, at 91,853 tonnes, compared with 91,439 at the end of 2007.
There were increases in the sales of unleaded motor gasoline (5.9%), gasoil low sulphur (4.6%) and heavy fuel oil (2.4%).
There were falls in sales of gasoil (-11.0%) and the provisions to ships (-15.6%).
The total sales of petroleum products in December 2008 recorded an increase of 12.4% compared to the previous month.
A significant rise was recorded in the sales of Gasoil and Liquefied Petroleum Gases. An increase was also recorded in the sales of unleaded motor gasoline, gasoil low sulphur and heavy fuel oil. A decrease was recorded in the sales of aviation kerosene, gasoil for marine use and asphalt.
