The prospects of Poland’s economy in the Eurozone were examined on Wednesday by Cyprus Finance Minister Charilaos Stavrakis and Polish House President, Bronislaw Komorowski who is carrying out an official visit to Cyprus.

In statements at the end of the meeting, the Cypriot Minister said that the Polish Speaker and delegation asked to be informed on the economy of Cyprus and how it maintains strong figures.

Stavrakis said that the Polish officials “asked to be informed how they can move to the Euro”, since “Poland has expressed the political will to enter the Eurozone”.

Things are harder now due to the international economic problems and the problems which the Polish economy is facing, said Stavrakis, adding that “we have stated our will to help Poland both with technical assistance and know-how to enter the Eurozone”, he concluded.

Cyprus has been a member of the Eurozone since 1st January 2008.
