The members of six Czech first division football teams will be arriving in Cyprus over the next few days to complete their training programme, in view of the spring season Czech championship.

The footballers are expected to stay in different areas of Cyprus until February 14, according to a veteran Czech footballer Zdenek Koukal, who played for a local Cypriot team and who is now acting as a link between Czech and Cypriot football.

Koukal told CNA that Cyprus provides ideal conditions for the preparation of the footballers, both regarding the weather and infrastructure at a reasonable price, although high airplane ticket prices in some cases accounts for a third of the total training cost.

The Czech teams to train in Cyprus are Brno, Zizkov, Jablonec, Liberec, Plzen and Pribram.
