Frixos Savvides heads CIBA Cyprus business association

The executive committee of the Cyprus International Businesses Association has elected former health minister Frixos Savvides as its new president.
In 1979, Savvides was the founding partner of Savvides & Partners / Pannell Kerr Forster (PKF) and was managing partner until 1999 when he was appointed to the Clerides administration, a post he held until 2003.
Currently, he is a senior independent business consultant and Managing Director of World Trade Center (Cyprus) Ltd., and also sits on several boards.
Savvides is a former bember of the board of Cyta and Cyprus Airways, and past president of the Apollon Football Club. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
An announcement by CIBA said that Savvides’ vast experience in economics, finance, management, politics and international business “will reinforce the strength and the persuasive power of our Association.”
CIBA is a non-governmental independent association, established in 1992, with the aim of safeguarding the interests of the international business companies in Cyprus. Its activities are financed by membership fees only, contributed by its more than 110 member companies, which include the largest and most prestigious IBCs operating on the island.
Other members of CIBA’s executive committee include Mehran Eftekhar (past president), Chris Koufaris (past president), Marios Anastasiou, Angelina Markari, Andreas Andreou, Doxia Vasiliou, Alexei Kondratiev, Antonis Antoniades, Philippos Antoniades (vice-president) and Ronny Verhoeven (vice-president). The general secretary of the association is Andreas Yiannakou.
