The company has utilized its innovative Flexi base station platform to foster a flat network architecture that will yield significant savings in operational and capital expenditures and energy consumption.
As it works toward manufacturing and deployment goals for year-end 2008 and 2009 launch periods, Nokia Siemens Networks is nearing certification and interoperability milestones. The WiMAX Forum certification process for both the 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz profiles of the industry-leading Flexi WiMAX Base Station is under way.
Nokia Siemens Networks has over 20 WiMAX references including fixed and mobile WiMAX and is a partner of the world’s largest WiMAX operators. The company also expects its first mobile WiMAX customers to start commercial operations within this year.
