Cyprus Minister of Finance meets Chinese entrepreneurs

Cyprus Minister of Finance Charilaos Stavrakis met on Tuesday representatives of the Chinese multinational company Hiking Group, as part of government efforts to attract foreign investment, especially from countries with big and important markets such as China.

According to a press release issued today by the Ministry of Finance, the meeting is the continuation of contacts the Minister has had with a group of Chinese entrepreneurs.

During the meeting, it is added, the representatives of the Chinese company referred to the very good economic conditions prevailing here and the prospects Cyprus offers as a business centre. They also expressed the company’s intension to invest in business activities on the island.

The press releases stressed that the Hiking Group has an annual turnover of more than $3 billion worldwide and the company is in constant contact with Cypriot entrepreneurs for cooperation.

The Minister welcomed the intentions of the Chinese company and analysed to its representatives the advantages Cyprus offers as a business centre in the wider region of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, as well in the European Union.
