Cyprus industrial output prices up 9.8% y/y in Jan-Jul

Industrial output prices in January-July 2008 rose by 9.8% over the same period of 2007, according to the latest figures from the Statistical Service Cystat.
Industrial output comprises manufacturing, electricity, gas and water, and mining and quarrying.
The highest increase was recorded in prices of electricity, gas and water. Output prices in this category rose by 23% over the same period of the previous year. Well over 90% of Cyprus’s electricity is generated by burning oil.
Mining and quarrying output prices rose by 9.6% in January-July over the same period of 2007.
Manufacturing output prices rose by 7.8%, the highest prices being recorded in food and wood products.
