At least 3 die as small plane crashes in Israel

At least three people died and others were injured when a light aircraft crashed on Thursday while attempting to land at a small airfield in the Israeli port city of Haifa, emergency services said.

A police spokesman said the plane was incoming from Cyprus.

Eyewitnesses told Israel's Channel Two television that the plane hit an electricity power line and then crashed into a building which is in a military base adjacent to the airfield. (Reuters)
