The dollar fell on Thursday after data showed an unexpected jump in U.S. weekly jobless claims, adding to worries about the state of the economy.
The euro was up 0.5 percent at $1.5665 versus $1.5605 before the report. The dollar was last down 0.3 percent at 107.81 yen, from 108.35 yen.
The number of U.S. workers filing new claims for jobless benefits leaped 44,000 last week, government data on Thursday showed, but a Labor Department official said the increase was at least partly due to special factors.
Analysts polled by Reuters had forecast 395,000 new claims.
