Redline Communications Group Inc., a leading Toronto-based provider of WiMAX and broadband wireless infrastructure products, announced that UUNET Kenya Ltd. has chosen Redline’s WiMAX Forum Certified RedMAX products for its national WiMAX network.

UUNET Kenya will extend its “Beyond Broadband” network to serve corporate customers in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu in 2008.

UUNET Kenya initiated its RedMAX deployment in 2006, delivering services to enterprise customers in Nairobi including the Nairobi Stock Exchange and the Kenyan Wildlife Service, and generating a return on its initial WiMAX investment within 18 months. It now plans to expand its RedMAX network and has capacity to serve users across the country.

“With the launch of our WiMAX network, we have been able to deliver fast and reliable broadband services to our customers and quickly achieve our growth objectives,” said Kenneth Kareithi, UUNET Kenya’s Marketing Manager.

“With Redline’s RedMAX solutions, we are able to deliver high quality voice, video and data services to a high volume of users from government agencies, corporations and educational institutions and generate a rapid return on our investment.”

Redline’s RedMAX family of WiMAX solutions includes the world’s first complete system to receive the WiMAX Forum Certified mark for conformance to the WiMAX standards for performance and interoperability. Redline’s carrier-class RedMAX Base Station (AN-100U) supports voice, video, and prioritized data traffic, enabling long-range, high-capacity wireless broadband networks.

The RedMAX 4C, which is based on the WiMAX industry’s 802.16e-2005 standards for mobile WiMAX, supports a wide range of fixed, portable and mobile wireless services including support Voice and Video over IP, broadband Internet access used to support highly valued education, medical, transportation and municipal applications, VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) and other advanced communications services.
