Cyprus travel abroad up 22.8% in Jan, UK popular

On the basis of the results of the Passengers’ Survey, the number of residents of Cyprsu travelling abroad in January rose by 22.8% compared with Janaury 2007. In total 78,021 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in January 2008 compared with 63,525 in the corresponding month last year.

There was an increase of 40.2% in trips to the United Kingdom (from 12,305 in January 2007 to 17,256 in January 2008).

There was an increase of 13.2% in trips of residents to Greece (from 22,138 in January 2007 to 25,050 in January 2008).
