Moldova trade minister to visit Cyprus

The Minister of Economy and Trade of Moldova, Igor Dodon, will pay a visit to Cyprus on Monday and Tuesday.

Accompanied his counselor, Alexandru Gozun, and Nicolis Nicolaides, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova, Dodon will arrive from Chisinau at Larnaca airport early Monday morning. During the day he will have a meeting with the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Antonis Michaelides, and later with Finance Minister Michalis Sarris at the Ministry of Finance where the two officials will sign the Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income.

In the afternoon, the Moldovan minister will visit the old city of Nicosia and the cease-fire line and in the evening he will attend an informal dinner offered by Minister Michaelides.

On Tuesday morning, Dodon will have a meeting with the Chairman of the Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEV), Andreas Pittas, and with the Vice Chairman of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KEVE), Tony Antoniou. He will pay a visit to Archbishop Chrysostomos II at the Archbishopric Palace and will be shown to the Cathedral of St John and the Archbishop Makarios III Foundation (Byzantine Museum).

After lunch and an afternoon of sightseeing, the minister will return to Moldova lat at night.
