Cyprus construction accelerates to 9% in Q3

The Cyprus production index in construction reached 124.2 in the third quarter of 2007, rising by 9% over the same quarter of 2006.

Construction output thus accelerated compared with the second quarter of 2007, when it had risen by 7.6% and compared with the first, when it rose by 4.1%.

Within the category of total construction in the third quarter, output of buildings rose by 8.8% compared with the third quarter of 2006 but output of civil engineering projects fell by 9.9%.
