Cypriot FM to visit Jordan and Palestinian Authorities

Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs Erato Kozakou Marcoullis will carry out a working visit to Jordan and the Palestinian Authorities on January7 and 8.

An official statement said that during her visit to Jordan, Marcoullis will meet her Jordanian counterpart Salahhedin Al-Bashir.

Among the issues the two Ministers will examine are bilateral relations and the strengthening of cooperation on both bilateral and regional level. They will also examine Jordan’s relations with the EU, the Middle East issue and the Cyprus problem.

During her stay in Amman, Marcoullis will also meet the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Palestinian Authority Riad Al-Malki. The two will discuss developments in Cyprus and how the EU can contribute to the dialogue between the Union and the Palestinian Authority. They will also examine the cooperation development programme of the Republic of Cyprus in which the Palestinian Authority is a member.

From Amman, Marcoullis will travel to Ramallah where she will be received by Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad and President Mahmoud Abbas.

She returns home on January 9.
