CYTA ups Vodafone Mobile Connect bandwidth

CYTA, the state-owned telecom of Cyprus has slashed its Vodafone Mobile Connect rates and increased the bandwidth for the service allowing subscribers to stay connected with the Internet through their notebooks in Cyprus and abroad.

CYTA is upping the bandwidth for its contract subscribers from 10MB to 50MB and from 400MB to 2GB for use in Cyprus. For the first service, CYTA is offering 50MB included in its monthly rental of CYP 5 or EUR 8.54 excluding VAT with the rate per MB downloaded or used lowered  to CYP 0.0995 or EUR 0.17 from 51 and up to 150MB while for 151MB up to 500MB the rate is lowered to CYP 0.0527 or EUR 0.09 per MB downloaded or used and for abover 501MB use the charge is further reduced to CYP 0.0176 or EUR 0.03 per MB downloaded.

For the Internet/Office 2GB service, CYTA is offering 2.048MB in its monthly fixed rental charge of CYP 25 or EUR 42.72 with the download rate per MB at CYP 0.0176 or EUR 0.03 for additional use.

For usage outside Cyprus and using the roaming services, the charges per MB downloaded are reduced up to 76% according to CYTA’s press release to EUR 0.001 for those using Vodafone network and EUR 0.0074 for other carrier networks per 1kB used or downloaded.
