EU consumer affairs hosts web-chat on “Have a safe Christmas”””

European Consumer Affairs Commissioner Meglena Kuneva will launch her first webchat Wednesday, 6-8pm, on “Have a safe Christmas.”  Web surfers can discuss product and toy safety on-line with the Commissioner Kuneva through her website, by clicking on the “Your Space” button:

“With Christmas and St. Nicholas fast approaching,” said Commissioner Kuneva, “we need to draw consumers’ attention to what rights they enjoy and how to make sure that the products they buy are safe. I would like to discuss with you topics such as toy safety and consumer rights: can I safely buy toys for my children? Are my rights protected when I shop on-line?”

Questions can be posted, and will be answered, in either English, French, German, Italian or Bulgarian. Participants must provide their name and e-mail address, and reply to an anti-spam question. Although the Commission welcomes an open debate, offensive remarks will not be published.
