Cyprus tourism revenue up 9.3% year on year in Sep

Growth in revenue from tourism continued to outpace the number of arrivals in September.

The Statistical Service Cystat has announced that on the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism reached CYP 154.0 mln (EUR 263.0 mln) in September 2007, compared with CYP 140.9 mln (EUR 240.8 mln) in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording an increase of 9.3%.

In the same month, total arrivals of tourists rose by 6.4%.

For the period January-September 2007, revenue from tourism is estimated at CYP 897.0 mln (EUR 1,532.7 mln), compared to CYP 838.1 mln (EUR 1,431.9 mn) in the corresponding period of 2006, recording an increase of 7.0%.

In the same period, arrivals of tourists rose by only 1.1%.
