Cyprus President wraps up trip to New York

President of the Republic of Cyprus Tassos Papadopoulos wrapped up his programme in New York with a luncheon he hosted for the five permanent members of the UN Security Council.

The luncheon was attended by the representatives of Russia, China, the US, Britain and France, and on the Cypriot side by President Papadopoulos, Minister of Foreign Affairs Erato Kozakou Markoullis, Director of the President’s Diplomatic Office Ambassador Tasos Tzionis, Cyprus’ Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Andreas Mavroyiannis and Deputy Permanent Representative Andreas Hadjichrysanthou.

President Papadopoulos also held separate meetings with the Presidents of Montenegro and Serbia, Filip Vujanovic and Boris Tadic respectively.

The President and his wife departed from New York on Thursday evening and will be returning to Cyprus on Saturday.
