The ministerial committee that has been set up to deal with all the practical issues deriving from the government’s decision to undertake the cost of rebuilding Artemida village in Peloponnesus, Greece, decided on Friday to send a five-member delegation of technocrats to Artemida to evaluate the extensive damage suffered during the recent fires that caused devastation across the country.

The committee comprises the Ministers of the Interior, Finance, Justice and Public Order, Communications and Works, and Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment.

Minister of the Interior Christos Patsalides said the team to be sent to Greece consists of mechanical engineers, town planners, architects and quantity surveyors.

The team will leave on Sunday for Artemida to assess the damage on site and meet with coordinators in Greece. On returning to Cyprus, the team will brief the ministerial committee, which will draft the first plan for the next steps to be made. More on site visits will follow.
