Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs Luis Filipe Marques Amado arrived in Cyprus on Thursday, on a two-day official visit.

The Minister was welcomed at Larnaca Airport by his Cypriot counterpart Erato Kozakou Markoullis.

On Thursday evening, Amado, whose country holds the six-monthly rotating EU presidency, will attend a private dinner hosted in his honour by President of the Republic Tassos Papadopoulos.

On Friday, he will have a meeting with House President Demetris Christofias and later on will see Marcoullis. Talks will follow between delegations from both Ministries.

The agenda includes the Cyprus issue, Euro-Turkish relations, Kosovo, the Middle East, the Intergovernmental Conference to draw up a ”Reform Treaty”, the European Neighbourhood Policy, as well as the priorities of the Portuguese EU Presidency and bilateral issues.

Amado will depart on Friday afternoon, following statements to the press with Marcoullis at the end of the talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
