The industrial turnover index (mining and quarrying; manufacturing; electricity, gas and water supply) for May 2007 reached 144.0 (base 2000 = 100).

This represented an increase of 4.5% compared with May 2006.

In the period January-May 2007 the index recorded an increase of 7.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the largest subcategory of manufacturing, the index for May 2007 reached 141.7, recording an increase of 5.1% compared to May 2006.
