Cypriot Ambassador decorated with Knight of the National Order of Merit

French Ambassador in Belgrade has decorated the Ambassador of Cyprus Omiros Mavrommatis with France’s Knight of the National Order of Merit (Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Merite).
Mavrommatis was honoured for the help he provided for the repatriation via Cyprus of French nationals during the crisis in Lebanon, last summer, as Head of the Consular Affairs Department at the Foreign Ministry.
Mavrommati’s decoration reflects on all the staff of the Foreign Minister, who contributed during last year’s crisis in Lebanon in tackling the situation due to the hostilities in this country and the need of repatriating via Cyprus more than 60 thousand foreign nationals.
Many Ambassadors accredited in Belgrade were present at the ceremony.
