The enterprise mobility business of Motorola, Inc. has introduced the new rugged Symbol LS3578-ER and LS3578-FZ cordless Bluetooth scanners for warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing environments. Ideal for scan-intensive applications in the most extreme working conditions, the Symbol LS3500 series of scanners provides superior performance and reliability for various industrial applications including shipping and receiving, inventory management, asset tracking and forklift applications.
“Motorola’s new Symbol LS3500 series of cordless scanners are designed to increase productivity by allowing users to move freely throughout the work environment to capture data quickly and efficiently,” said Bob Sanders, vice president and general manager of advanced data capture for the enterprise mobility business, Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions. “With rugged design, integrated Bluetooth capabilities and wide working range for scanning items at varying distances, the LS3500 scanners offer a versatile scanning tool for superior performance and reliability in industrial environments.”
Sealed to IP65 specifications against water and dust and able to withstand multiple 2-metre drops to concrete, both the LS3578-ER and -FZ scanners include open Bluetooth technology enabling easy integration with other Bluetooth-enabled devices such as the VC5090 vehicle-fixed mount mobile computer. In addition, Remote Scanner Management (RSM) technology allows site administrators to immediately locate scanners and push multiple application updates simultaneously from a central remote location to reduce management time and costs.
The LS3578-FZ scanner features “fuzzy logic” technology based on advanced scanning algorithms to provide accurate and fast reading of worn, damaged, dirty and poorly printed bar codes typically found in warehouses and manufacturing environments. The versatile LS3578-ER scanner can read bar codes as close as four inches and as far away as 15 metres away — providing the greatest working range of any available rugged laser scanner on the market.
