The majority of businesses in Cyprus are family owned and run. In fact, the family business is considered as the backbone of the Cyprus economy. However, with one in ten of family firms reaching the third generation, action is needed to ensure happy families lead healthy growing businesses.

With this major aim the Cyprus International Institute of Management CIIM is organizing for the third year running its Family Academy programme to benefit the young generation of business heirs who are destined to lead the family businesses to the next stage of development and growth.

The programme is designed to cover important topics for family business owners and managers like Building Growth, Managing Conflict, Governing the Family Business, Planning for Succession and Financing the Family Business. The programme also includes visits to successful family enterprises and several guest speakers on crucial topics like the legal and financial aspects which are important for family businesses.

The success of the programme in previous years has led to enthusiastic comments from participants and strong interest for this year’s Family Business Academy, to be held from June 11 to 15 at  the CIIM premises in Nicosia.
