Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices (E&D) Division has announced the Middle East launch of the Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000, an ultra-thin entertainment keyboard and mouse combination which offers a host of innovative features and Bluetooth connectivity.

The ComfortCurve design of the keyboard is one of the stand-out features of the Desktop 7000 from a design point of view. The keyboard is also studded with several one-touch access buttons like the Media Center Start button; Windows Live Call button to access the Windows Live Messenger contact list; and the Gadgets button to access gadgets such as weather information, news updates, traffic maps and slide shows of online photo albums. Further, the integrated cursor control of the keyboard allows users to command their PCs from their laps or from any place they are seated.

“Almost every hardware device launched by Microsoft E&D in the recent years has been a reflection of our commitment to introduce products that are in tune with changing consumer demands, and the Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000 is no exception. This media-oriented input device package is loaded with a range of features such as long range Bluetooth connectivity, touch sensitive keyboard cursor control and smartly placed media control buttons to enhance user experience while interacting with their PCs which serve as digital entertainment hubs,” said Armagan Demir, Head of Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division.

The Media Controls of the keyboard allow users to easily navigate to next track, previous track, play, pause and volume control. In addition, with the ‘My Favourites’ hot keys, users can access the files, folders and web pages they use most, with a single touch. The 2.4 GHz Bluetooth technology of the Desktop 7000 ensure that users can connect wirelessly for up to 30 feet with virtually no interference.

On the other hand, the rechargeable mouse of the Desktop 7000 comes with a battery status indicator, four-way scrolling and tilt wheel technology, and also the Microsoft high definition laser technology for greater precision, responsiveness and smoother tracking. The mouse also has the instant viewer function, which means clicking the scroll wheel button instantly displays all open windows.
