Cyprus and India signed three agreements, aiming to further develop bilateral relations between the two states. The agreements were signed after talks between the Foreign Minister of Cyprus Υiorgos Lillikas and the Minister of External Affairs of India Pranab Mukherjee, which were also attended by Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Antonis Michaelides.
The first agreement concerns combating international terrorism, organized crime and illicit drug trafficking and the second the abolition of visa requirement for holders of diplomatic and official/service passports.
The action plan concerns a cooperation programme on the cultural field.
Lillikas said that other interstate agreements in other fields will soon be ready to be signed.
He said that by signing the agreement on combating international terrorism and illicit drug trafficking “we jointly send the message that terrorism is not only condemnable but constitutes threat for peace and stability for the entire world and there must be zero tolerance on this issue.”
