Cyprus tourist arrivals dive in April

According to the Statistical Service arrivals of tourists reached 189,310 in April 2007 compared to 206,548 in April 2006, recording a decrease of 8.3%. A decrease of 17.9% was recorded in tourist arrivals from the United Kingdom (93,201 in April 2007 compared to 113,576 in April 2006) as well as 13.8% decrease from Germany (15,284 compared to 17,724 last year).

On the other hand, an increase was recorded in tourist arrivals from Greece, Sweden and Russia. For the period January – April 2007 arrivals of tourists totalled 408,573 compared to 434,648 in the corresponding period of 2006, recording a decrease of 6.0%.
