Industrial turnover up 7.3% in Jan-Feb

The industrial turnover index (mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity, gas and water supply) in February 2007 reached 120.6 (base 2000=100), recording an increase of 7.3% compared with February 2006.

For Manufacturing, the index for February 2007 reached 115.7, recording an increase of 8.2% compared with February 2006.

For the period January-February 2007 the index recorded an increase of 9.6% compared with the same period of the previous year.

Industrial production in the same period rose by 0.9% while manufacturing rose by 0.5%.
