US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Bryza has discussed the Cyprus issue with the representative of the Turkish Cypriot leader, Rasit Pertev.
Speaking to CNA, a US official said Pertev and Bryza met yesterday “to review Turkish Cypriot commitment to the UN-brokered July 8 principles and to share thoughts on how to energetically pursue a comprehensive settlement to the Cyprus problem.”
The meeting took place after the Turkish Cypriot side handed to the UN a review of their positions with regard to an agreement reached between the Greek and the Turkish Cypriot sides, under UN auspices, to help resume negotiations towards a political settlement in Cyprus.
