On the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism reached CYP 22.6 mln in February 2007 compared with CYP 23.1 mln in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording a decrease of 2.2%.

For the period January-February 2007 revenue from tourism is estimated at CYP 42.2 mln, compared with CYP 44.3 mln in the corresponding period of 2006, recording a decrease of 4.6%.

This is comparable with the fall in arrivals. In the first two months of 2007, the number of tourist arrivals fell by 5.0% compared with the same period of 2006.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that the Easter season has been quiet.
