The Association for Cultural and Special Interest Tourism has embarked on a mission to promote rural Cyprus and alternative tourism services to the Germany market.

The association’s president, George Michaelides, and executive director Christos Petsides were on hand at the Cyprus Tourism Organisation’s stand at the ITB tourism exhibition in Berlin to inform travel agents, the tourism media and the German public at large about their special interest programmes.

The association has urged the CTO to embark on an aggressive marketing campaign with the participation of all interested parties in order to revive the flow of tourism from Germany and perhaps revisit the ‘good old days’ of some 200,000 tourist arrivals a year, as last seen in 2000.
