Industrial turnover up 5.9% in 2006

Industrial turnover rose by 5.9% compared with the same period of the previous year in January-December 2006, according to the latest figures from the Cyprus Statistical Service CYSTAT.

The Industrial Turnover Index (Mining and Quarrying, Manufacturing, Electricity, Gas and Water Supply) for December 2006 reached 132.9 (Base 2000=100).

This compares with industrial production growth of 0.3% in the same period.

Turnover of mining and quarrying rose by 2.0%, turnover of electricity, gas and water rose by 4.2%, and turnover of manufacturing rose by 17.6% in 2006.
