Construction materials prices up 4.3% in January

The Price Index of Construction Materials reached 134.20 (base year 2000=100.00) in January 2007, recording an increase of 0.36% over the previous month and 4.3% over the previous year.

A breakdown of components of the index shows that the biggest rise came from industrial products, followed by wood, stone and quarrying materials, while there was a fall in the petroleum products element, no doubt thanks to falling petrol prices.
