Epson has launched its new Perfection V100 Photo scanner in the Middle East, offering the region’s photo enthusiasts a slim model that features advanced scanning capability and is suitable for the home, office, studio or classroom.

The V100 includes a built-in transparency unit for scanning 35mm strip films of six frames and slides of four frames in addition to film holders, so that users are able to scan, copy and restore photos and films with ease and store their film holders safely.

The Perfection V100 Photo is part of Epson’s latest range of A4 scanners that combine premium quality scanning typically associated with Epson’s unique Matrix CCD technology into a new slim design. All scanners come in a silver finish and include an innovative portrait and landscape scanning option, allowing users to choose the way in which they prefer to use the scanner and help them make the most of the space on their desktops.

A new hinge design facilitates scanning of books and thicker objects by fully opening the lid to a 90-degree angle or a 180-degree angle. Documents of up to 25mm thick can also be scanned with the lid closed.

Epson’s Easy Photo Fix software allows photographers to improve their images before and after scanning with the dust removal functionality.  It also includes a new back light correction feature that automatically enhances and corrects the brightness, sharpness, colour saturation and colour balance of the image.

The entry-level scanner features a high optical resolution of 3200dpi, is compatible with Macs and PCs and is bundled with software such as Epson Scan, Epson Creativity Suite, ArcSoft PhotoImpression 5, ABBYY FineReader Sprint 6, and ABBYY FineReader Sprint 5 for Mac.

“Our latest A4 scanner combines professional quality output with ease of use and a compact design, enabling photo enthusiasts to easily digitise their photos and film,” said Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East.
