Trading platform with ATHEX due Oct 30

The Association of Investment Firms of Cyprus has voted in favour of the recommendation of the CSE Council for the commencement of the “Common Trading Platform” (CTP) with the Athens Exchange on Monday 30 October 2006.

We also note the high probability of the CSE being closed for business on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 October as a measure of ensuring that the migration to the CTP is achieved with limited risks.

The common trading platform aims to set up a uniform and effective environment for the execution and clearing of stock transactions on both exchanges based on systems currently in use in the EU and developed capital markets internationally. The ASE and the CSE hope that their initiative will be followed and other countries will also join their grouping.
