Cyprus Retail trade volume up in May

The Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade for May 2006 increased by 2.9 units or 2.4% to 125.6 units compared to 122.7 in April 2006, the Statistics Service reported. For the period January-May 2006 the Index recorded an increase of 5.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2005.

According to provisional estimates the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade for June 2006 increased by 3.3 units or 2.6% to 128.9 units compared to 125.6 in May 2006. For the period January-June 2006 the Index is provisionally estimated to have an increase of 6.0% compared to the corresponding period of 2005.
