Cyprus Airways has scheduled extra flights to and from Greece to cope with high demand from tens of thousands of Cypriots travelling to Greece for their holidays. Greece has always been the number one destination for holidaymakers across the island, however, this year airports will be overflowing with passengers as many students studying in Athens and Salonica will be heading back in time for their second examination period. Around 66 flights to both cities will be carried out throughout the month of August as a result of the excessive demand.

Furthermore, Cyprus Airways have arranged 12 extra flights to and from Larnaca and Athens in addition to four scheduled flights on the programme already. Salonica seems to be the most favoured destination as a total of 54 additional flights have been included on the agenda in addition to one flight that is normally carried out.

The extra flights make way for 1,584 extra seats to Athens and 8,760 to Salonica, giving a grand total of 45,000 seats to Athens and 20,000 for those going to Salonica.

Despite smoothing the ground for ongoing air traffic, Cyprus Airways are advising passengers to seek all kinds of information about their flights including rights and obligations, necessary preparations and rules so as to assure a comfortable, hassle-free journey.

Cyprus Airways service officials will be on hand at the airport for assistance and info and at the Customer Care hotline 8000-0008.
