Specialized Technical Services (STS), a leading e-payment solutions provider in the Middle East, has signed a US$ 350,000 deal with Jordan Kuwait Bank (JKB) to implement a cutting edge core banking system based on the new multi- core, multi-thread based servers from Sun Microsystems. The high performance technology will upgrade Jordan Kuwait Bank’s core banking infrastructure and enable it to derive significant business benefits in a competitive banking environment.
The core banking project was designed on Sun’s new Sun Fire Servers with CoolThreads technology that delivers breakthrough performance with power efficiency. The multi core system, with advanced threading and multi-tasking, provides improved processing of real-time financial applications to catalyse faster response and better customer service. Further, the new system also reduces operational overheads while providing higher availability and security.
Ramzi Zeine, Chairman, STS, said, “Service availability and speed of response are key for customer base retention and expansion, especially for fast growing institutions like Jordan Kuwait Bank. We are focused on implementing solutions that help our clients achieve maximum cost advantages, while enhancing service expandability and improving customer experience. For instance, the Sun Fire servers with the Solaris 10 operating system and full protection plan, implemented at Jordon Kuwait Bank are the industry’s fastest and most space and energy efficient systems, enabling improved service delivery and lower running costs for the bank.”
The STS implemented Sun Technology solution also offers comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity services to ensure that the bank’s operations continue even in cases of threat.
“Reliability is perhaps the most important aspect that customers consider while selecting their banks. Even a minimal disruption can have lasting implications for a bank’s reputation and goodwill. We have catered to the Jordan Kuwait Bank’s need for business continuity even in adverse conditions by installing a full backup and recovery plan. We are confident that the bank will leverage Sun’s contemporary technology to achieve its objectives of faster business growth, profitability and superior customer service” added Zeine.
