Industrial production shows sharp fall in April

The Index of Industrial Production for April 2006 reached 102.8 units (Base 2000=100), according to the Statistical Services.

For April 2006 the Index recorded a decrease of 6.6% compared to April 2005.

For the period January – April 2006 the index recorded a decrease of 2.0% compared to the same period of the previous year.

For Manufacturing, the Index for April 2006 reached 98.2 units, recording a decrease of 8.3% compared to April 2005.
