The increase in cybercrime caused by the new malware dynamic –- which aims at economic benefit — has led Panda Software to create a website helping users to deal with this problem.

The newspaper , includes the most important cybercrime news and the threats associated with it. It also includes a blog section with exclusive editorial content.

Visitors can also subscribe to the CyberCrime Watch e-bulletin free of charge, and periodically receive the most relevant cybercrime news via email.

In the first quarter of 2006, 70% of malware detected by PandaLabs was related to cybercrime. All this has led Panda Software to create a specific website on this issue, to give users the necessary information to become aware of this problem and be able to face it efficiently.

Cybercrime Watch also includes a “Rootkits” section. The stealth capacity of most rootkits makes an ideal tool for cyber-crooks, and many creators of other types of malware, such as Trojans, are including rootkit capabilities in their creations. In this way, they can go unnoticed both to users and security companies, and carry out their malicious actions for considerable periods of time without being detected.

Finally, a blog will offer editorial content and will allow visitors to participate actively by leaving their comments to the opinions posted.

Also, visitors to the newspaper can also subscribe to the free CyberCrime Watch e-bulletin, which will offer them the latest, most relevant cybercrime news every week.

The newspaper also allows users to access the CyberCrime Watch news through RSS. To do this, they only have to add the addresses for the different CyberCrime Watch sections to their readers, or click on the different buttons to add the feed directly if services like My Yahoo! or Newsgator are used.
